This Art Deco diamond and ruby bracelet was made in 1930. Running along the center of the bracelet is an openwork band of oval-shaped cabochon rubies, framed by a single and baguette-cut diamond band trimmed with cabochon rubies. The bracelet closes with a single and baguette-cut diamond clasp, mounted in platinum.
I love that this bracelet uses cabochon rubies instead of a more angular cut – I think the texture is really interesting and unusual. I’d love to see how the stones pick up light when this piece is out and about on a lucky wrist. This bracelet was sold as part of Christie’s October 21, 2009 Rare Jewels sale. Buccellati gold, ruby, and diamond bracelet.
Bonus post! Merry Christmas, if you celebrate it, and happy Federal holiday if you don’t! Joyous Tuesday to all.
Don’t you love Buccellati bracelets?
I think they’re an ideal statement piece. Bold but simple, with a hint of texture, from further away, intricate and wondrous close up.
This beautiful thing is made of 18 karat white and yellow gold, set with oval rubies within star motifs, accented by round diamonds weighing approximately 5.15 carats. The bracelet is hinged and signed Buccellati, Italy.

Irene Neuwirth mixed boulder opal bracelet.
We’ve talked about Irene Neuwirth before, so I’ll get right to the good stuff:
It would be hard to make anything too ugly with materials like this, but I think the bracelet’s simple gold setting and the single pave diamond outline on the rectangular opal really accentuate the natural beauty of the stones. Let’s take a closer look.
This is a one-of-a-kind bracelet from the Irene Neuwirth Diamond Collection. The quadruple cable chain bracelet is made from yellow 18 karat gold and set with boulder opals of various cuts. The diamond pave surround on the rectangular opal comes to a total of .91 carats of diamonds.
