Chopard and Disney have come together to create a fine jewelry collection inspired by the Disney princesses. That thump? That was 13-year-old me falling over in a dead faint.

So, here’s the thing. I think this is a really cool idea, and the pieces are impressive. But I’m not sure that I really like some of them that much. Especially Belle’s jewelry, which breaks my heart because she’s my favorite by far (she reads!!). I’d love to hear your thoughts – please take a look and let me know what you think.

Obviously I am going to show you all of the pictures of the Disney princess collection jewelry. I’m having troubling finding much information on the actual materials of the pieces, so I apologize for that. We can still oogle.

This cherry blossom brooch was inspired by Mulan. It’s my favorite piece. The connection to Mulan is obvious, the colors are stunning, and the shape is beautiful. The fact that I have a tattoo that looks a lot like this does not make me biased at all.

This ring is inspired by Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  I just don’t think this is pretty. I’m also not sure what the connection to Belle is. I don’t think she ever wears any of these colors, although perhaps they’re supposed to be a reference to the stained glass in the movie.

This is Belle’s necklace. Again, I don’t see the connection, although it’s very technically impressive and more pleasing to the eye (or at least less off-putting) than the ring above. Maybe the idea is that it will go well with her yellow ballgown? Perhaps the shape is inspired by the swirls of magic that surround the Beast when he turns back into a human. That’s my best guess.

Belle’s earrings. I do hope this set isn’t meant to be worn all at once.

This necklace was inspired by Tiana, from The Princess and the Frog. I think it’s lovely. The colors are dreamy and I really like how the tendrils of the necklace weave around the flowers. I wonder what the stones are?

Pocahontas’ bracelet. Shiny! Colorful. This one is more wearable than some of the others. I like the pattern, it’s unique and appealing.

Rapunzel necklace inspired by the movie Tangled. This is the kind of thing I was expecting when I heard about this collection: you can see the connection to the movie but it’s not overly on-the-nose and it’s still a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Snow White’s poison apple ring. It’s a ring AND an apple. I love the leaf – very finely sculpted and at a perfect angle. Also, the inside of the ring has a pattern of tiny apples, which is great. However…it’s still not as cool as this poison apple ring.
