Good morning, my darlings!
As you may know, in addition to writing to you here on Diamonds in the Library, I’m a contributing author on the fabulous reader-focused website, BookRiot.com. Book Riot is 5 years old this year, and it’s thriving, gloriously enthusiastic community of readers is one of the most vibrant, welcoming groups of people I’ve ever been a part of.
Last year, Book Riot took its reading-focused fabulousness from online to IRL with the first ever Book Riot Live convention and it was magnificent. In fact, we liked it so much that we’re doing it again: next weekend in NYC, on November 12th-13th.
Book Riot Live will feature a powerful lineup of panels featuring authors we love, addressing all kinds of issues from the serious to the purely fun. I personally will be leading a reading of Shakespeare’s Star Wars, which is exactly what it sounds like and I recommend you attend if at all possible.
Book Riot Live is a two day event, but you can buy a ticket for just Saturday or Sunday, if you prefer. (Take $20 off with the promo code BOOKNERD.)
You can also join us for one of two evening events at The Strand: a books and booze pairing class on Friday, or a cocktail party on Saturday.
Most importantly: let me know if you’re going to be there so that I can say hello!

Wish I could join you. If you have an event in the DC area. . .

Oh how fun! I hope someone videos the Shakespeare’s Stars Wars reading. What a hoot!

Most of it ended up on Instagram last year – it’s very possible that will happen again!
