Today is Mr. DitL’s birthday!! A birthday of some significance (a number ending in 0) so I made sure to pick an especially spectacular piece of jewelry to feature in his honor. Happy birthday, honey!!

The heart and soul of this shooting star ring by Andrea Fohrman is the dazzling, multi-hued piece of chrysocolla at its center. I’d never heard of chrysocolla before I saw this piece, but it’s gone straight to my list of minerals to get to know better. It looks like malachite and turquoise had a beautiful, swirling baby.
The smooth oval of the chrysocolla serves as the backdrop of the night sky for a smattering of inlaid white diamonds and one gold shooting star. It’s framed by a wreath of sparkling diamonds in a 14k yellow gold setting.
The effect is incredible. A perfect blend of whimsey and elegance, this piece is bold, eye-catching, and joyful.
