Mervis’ fashion diamonds trunk show: Part II.

You knew it was coming and now it’s here: Part II of my Mervis Diamonds’ fashion diamonds jewelry trunk show. Ready for more pretties?

I cannot possibly describe to you how amazing this black and white diamond bracelet by Sasha Primak feels. It’s like water crossed with chainmail; cool, heavy, and fluid. I couldn’t running it through my fingers. Not to mention the fact that it’s beautiful. What a unique and eye-catching statement piece.

I loved how the colors of these Sasha Primak emerald and diamond earrings popped against my hair. They’re surprisingly light and comfortable. Oh, you want to see them, not me? Okay:

Isn’t this green tourmaline and diamond ring by Coast Diamond interesting? I’ve never seen a ring set exactly like this one. I think it’s fascinatingly beautiful.

You had a peek of this Sasha Primak stunner up at the top of the post. Yellow diamonds usually just don’t really do it for me, but this one rocked my world. There was just something irresistible about it. And check out that yellow diamond eternity band!

These Sasha Primak bracelets took my breath away. They’re also very substantial: I have upwards of 50 carats of diamonds in my hand right there. How often can anyone say that?

These two Sasha Primak rings – a sapphire and diamond beauty and a diamond eternity band – seemed to like hanging out together. They didn’t have long, though, because I had to take off the eternity band and hand it over to a lucky lady whose husband wanted to buy it for her.

It was the sapphire that really held my heart, anyway. Aren’t the side stones perfect?

Three aquamarine and diamond pendants.

Who doesn’t love a good aquamarine and diamond pendant? No one, that’s who.

An Art Deco / Edwardian aquamarine and diamond pendant from 1910

This first beauty is early Art Deco/Edwardian, from 1910. It features a lively, oval-cut aquamarine within a frame of circular cut diamonds and wreathed in floral and foliate details. The trace link chain it was sold with is just over 20 inches long, so this is a longer necklace (which I think is perfect for such a bold aquamarine and diamond pendant).

This lovely aquamarine and diamond pendant is also from the 1910’s (I never said I wasn’t predictable).  It features a pear-shaped, faceted aquamarine drop suspended from circular-cut, rose diamond and pearl surmount on a curb link chain. This one’s a bit shorter, clocking in around 17 inches.

It’s very simple, but I love it. The lush, curved aquamarine drop, the tiny pearl, the perfectly shaped diamond-set detail. It takes my breath away.

 

A contemporary aquamarine, diamond, and sapphire pendant.

 

This one is totally different. It’s contemporary and is all hard angles where the first two were soft curves. It’s centered by a huge emerald cut aquamarine (79 carats!) surrounded by  calibré-cut sapphires and old European-cut diamonds. The pendant is  topped by a triangular diamond and sapphire surmount. Total diamond weight, 2.05 carats. Total sapphire weight, 3.30 carats.

I absolutely love the contrast of the sapphire in this piece, but I’m not totally sold on the surmount. It’s so sharp looking. What do you think?

Mervis’s fashion diamonds trunk show: Part I.

Remember that time I went to a Tacori trunk show at Mervis Diamond Importers and took a million pictures?

They had another trunk show. Obviously, I was there.

This trunk show’s focus was fashion diamonds: diamond fashion jewelry. Let me tell you, a kid in a candy store’s got nothing on me at a jewelry show. I took so many pictures that I’m going to have to make it a two-parter. The aquamarine and diamond stunners above are the work of Coast Diamonds, as are these babies:

My hands loved these Coast Diamond bracelets. They were so heavy and cool on my skin. My camera couldn’t capture the true fire of those sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds, so I made you a little video.

Coast Diamond’s impossibly delicate diamond pendant looks is a beautiful cross between a spiderweb and a rose window.

I adore this Martin Flyer emerald and diamond ring. It looks like the world’s most tiniest and most fabulous turtle. Look how precisely set it is – it’s hard to make out the individual stones.

Stackables! I adored the Art Deco feel of these wedding bands on the bottom of the stack in the forefront, and the twist design of the ones above them.

This spectacular Martin Flyer bracelet is set with yellow and white diamonds.  The white diamonds are actually bullet cut, rather than emerald. That’s how they fit together like that in the center of the X shapes.

Here’s an incredible detail on one of Coast Diamond’s rose gold and diamond engagement rings. It would be perfect with the twisted rose gold and diamond wedding band in the photo above, don’t you think?

Here’s the little sister of that huge Coast garnet ring I showed you near the beginning. This one really wanted to come home with me. Tragically, adopting it would have cost me several months’ rent. I’m glad I have photo documentation of our brief and glorious time together.

This is by Martin Flyer. Looks like big pear-cut diamonds in the centers of the petals, right? It’s actually many very precisely-set smaller stones. Such a well made piece.
