Ebay watchlist, Thanksgiving edition.

Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Thanksgiving-celebrators! Whether you are preparing to cook a lot, eat a lot, or drink a lot to deal with all of the cooking and eating, I wish you a marvelous day.

Our ancestors did some horrible things, and I’m not on board with glorifying colonialism or genocide, but I like what this holiday means in my house: a day to sit down and concentrate on spending time with your family. I hope any non-Thanksgiving celebrators out have a marvelous day too.

Art Deco aquamarine and diamond bracelet by Cartier.

This is a really big picture but I’m pretty sure you won’t mind.

This gorgeous bracelet is Art Deco Cartier, circa 1930 (in case you were wondering why it’s so pretty, that’s why).

It’s designed as a flexible strap decorated in a geometric pattern with emerald-cut, oval, square-cut and long hexagonal-shaped aquamarines. The total weight of the aquamarines is 60.50 carats(!). The aquamarines are accented by approximately 2.90 carats of round diamonds. The bracelet is 7 inches long, signed Cartier, London.

Art Deco aquamarine and diamond pendant.

I pinned this piece on Pinterest forever ago and it’s still one of my most popular pins – it pops up everywhere. I still think it’s just as gorgeous as I did when I first saw it and I wanted to give it its own post.

This pendant is from the early Art Deco period; it was made in France in 1920. The long, briolette-cut aquamarine is set into a diamond cap which attaches to an openwork millegrain-set fan-shaped surmount set with round and baguette cut diamonds. This attaches to a diamond-set loop, which hangs on a three link platinum chain necklace.

I think the way that the shape of diamond fan curves into the aquamarine is utterly perfect. I would love to see this in sunshine, wouldn’t you? Or candlelight.
