Good morning, kittens! (I’m trying to branch out on my endearments.)
I have something bold and wonderful for you today, so we’ll dive right in. I’d like you to meet a truly remarkable piece: it’s perfection in a sapphire and green beryl cocktail ring.
First things first: how cool is this thing?? 10/10 for pure visual effect. Color and shape hit it out of the park right from first glance.
This sapphire and beryl cocktail ring may look modern, but an antique – later Art Deco, from the 1930’s – 1940’s. You can feel the retro period coming on in its incredible boldness, but the Deco geometry is still there. It’s fantastic.
Let’s get a little more into the weeds now. Why is it fantastic? Well, first of all: the stones. That is a killer sapphire in the middle of this ring. A 5.68 carat, completely natural, no-heat emerald-cut blue Ceylon sapphire. Hot damn.
Surrounding big blue is a remarkable halo of 8.68 carats of gloriously mint green beyrl. The stones are perfectly matched in color and precisely cut to fit perfectly into each other to form a seamless, even, and stunning frame for the central sapphire. It’s gorgeous work. The jeweler who set these stones knew exactly what they were doing.
