Cartier pearl and diamond dress watch.

If I owned this watch I think I’d purposefully set it wrong so that I could periodically look at my wrist and think “What time is it? Oh wait, I’m so marvelously adorned that I don’t care.”

It’s breathtaking, isn’t it? Obviously Cartier, it was made in Paris in 1905. The dial is white enamel with black painted Roman numerals. Surrounding the face is a pave-set rose-cut diamond bezel with scrolling pear-cut diamond-set shoulders and a diamond-set winder. The watch strap is a seven row white and grey pearl bracelet concealing a rose gold and platinum deployant clasp. The watch is signed Cartier on the dial with serial numbers 20103 and 11397 to the reverse of the platinum case.

That’s right. Even the winder is set with diamonds. This watch rocks my world. I think every detail is lovely, down to the style of the Roman numerals painted on the face.

This bracelet is on the simple side, but I think it’s very pretty.

Made in 18 karat gold, this bracelet is set with one round-cut ruby; two square-cut emeralds; four pear-shaped sapphires; and 24 round brilliant cut diamonds, VS clarity, G color. Total diamond weight is 1.50 carats. It was made by Cartier Paris in 1994 and is stamped “Cartier.” Comes in original Cartier box.

Jade, diamond, and enamel ring by Cartier.

This jade, diamond and enamel ring by Cartier is undated but it’s certainly radiating a strong Art Deco vibe. Just look at it: the colors, the shapes, and the materials (the jade and enamel) all suggest Art Deco. I can’t make the call from a picture whether this is antique or just Art Deco inspired, but it’s definitely one or the other. Which, coming from me, is another way of saying that I think it’s beautiful.

A jade, diamond, and enamel ring by Cartier.

It is centered by an oval jadeite jade cabochon, mounted in platinum, with a black enamel line surround and old brilliant-cut diamond triplet shoulders. The ring is signed Cartier and numbered 4953.

That strong color contrast of the green jade against the black enamel and sparkling diamonds is perfection. This baby would be a real eye-catcher, even though it looks to be of modest size. I think it must be divine on a finger. I would love the chance to see it in person.
