I love this 2.03 carat asscher cut diamond engagement ring. Deeply. I like to visit it every so often (well, its website, at least) and sometimes I accidentally terrify my boyfriend by leaving the listing up on my computer for long periods of time.
First of all, it has an asscher-cut center stone. Asscher is my favorite shape for a diamond. Why? Because they are the best. Just look at it. If you need more convincing, click on a few of these or google “Krupp diamond” for a million pictures of my jewelry hero’s ultimate finger bling.
As Elizabeth Taylor said about her (enormous and spectacular) asscher-cut ring, “When I look into it, the deep Asscher cuts—which are so complete and ravishing—are like steps that lead into eternity and beyond. With its sparks of red and white and blue and purple, and on and on, really, it sort of hums with its own beatific life.”
I’ll be posting more asschers, don’t worry.
It’s a contemporary ring but designed in Art Deco style. It also happens to be set with an excellent diamond – 2.03 carats, F color – VS1 clarity.
I love the symmetry and clean lines of diamond-studded stairstep shoulders and the delicate detail of the engraving around the ring. The design continues all around the ring – it’s such a well-though out, thoroughly designed piece. And I am completely and totally in love with it.
