1920’s filigree diamond ring.

This 18 k white gold 1920’s filigree diamond ring has a smaller diamond than most I’ve posted but it’s still a healthy .56 carats (European cut, high quality). The diamond isn’t what makes this ring exceptional, though; it’s the details.

Just look at that filigree gallery. That diamond isn’t in a setting, it’s in a birdcage. It would look like it was floating on my hand (I mean, anyone’s hand. What?).

My favorite part is the way the filigree around the diamond seamlessly melts into the engraving embellishing the shoulders. It looks organic, almost like feathers.

This lovely thing is from the 1920’s. Did I mention that I love this ring? I love this ring.

It blows my mind to think about the fact that this ring was made by humans. A person thought of the idea, made it happen, and now it exists and is making my heart skip a beat, almost 100 years later.

Art Deco diamond calibre emerald dinner ring.

This ring, circa 1930’s, is a powerful argument for the extreme fabulousness of Art Deco dinner rings. Diamonds and a bright platinum mounting offset with bright emeralds and geometric design motifs. Lovely, eye-catching, and elegant.

Just look at that openwork around the central diamond and around the emeralds – it’s so precise, and lends such a delicacy to the piece.

Early Art Deco sapphire and diamond filigree ring.

I’m pretty sure that when I looked at this ring my mouth fell open and my eyes bugged out like I was a cartoon cat looking at a mouse.

Hey there, beautiful. Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?

A major part of what makes this ring so remarkable is that center stone, a 4.50 carat royal blue Ceylon sapphire.

The delicately milgrained octagonal setting is as stunning as the stone itself. Around the setting is a cloud of tiny, sparkling diamonds within a pierced stylized star motif.

To quote Lang’s description, “No attention to detail has been left unpaid.” The ring’s gallery is elegant scrollwork, the millegraining and engraving continue all around the rings shank.
