Good morning, my darlingest darlings!!
I have something special for you today. I know I’ve said that before, but this Edwardian diamond necklace is really one of my all-time favorites, ever. For proof of this, please scroll up.
That’s right, dears. I’m finally going to tell you about the necklace I loved so much that I had to have it in my header image (that photo is one I took myself, back on the glorious day when I visited Lang Antiques). The only reason you haven’t seen it yet is that I kept waiting for The Right Time to unveil it…and the week before my wedding feels like a good time.
This necklace’s name – in my head, anyway – is “The Edwardian Queen necklace.” This is due to its extreme magnificence and beauty. It is both a queen of Edwardian diamond necklaces and an Edwardian diamond necklace fit for a queen.
I’ll babble for a minute to give you a moment to re-gather your wits after that first photo.
When I visited Lang Antiques, I tried on a lot of jewels. Most of them were spectacular. But this was the only one that made me go like this:
Of the 3,000 photos I took during that visit, quite a few of them are me wearing this Edwardian diamond necklace with a stupid grin on my face.
Let’s take another look and then I’ll give you some actual information:
The Edwardian Queen Necklace – which I keep wanting to call “my necklace” because: I wish – dates to 1900.
The necklace is platinum over 18 karat gold with a rivere the most delicious of antique mine-cut and Old European diamonds. The inner diamond rivere suspends a fringe of leafy elements which drips plump, juicy, luminescent old antique pear-cut diamonds.
The only thing that might be more beautiful than this necklace as whole is its individual elements. Seriously, just look at those diamonds! And the leaf-like design elements – it’s so delicate and elegant, you almost don’t realize how huge it is when you concentrate on the details.
But then you remember: it’s 35 carats.
BAM.
Utter perfection. Get me a high-res photo of this printed in a large size and I’ll frame it and put it on my wall.
I’m reasonably sure this is a stupid question, because I know I have intelligent readers with discerning taste, but I have to ask:
What do you think of this Edwardian necklace, darlings? Are you with me?
This Edwardian diamond necklace is currently available at Lang Antiques. (Yes, CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.)
All images and info are thanks to Lang Antiques and their magnificent photographer, Cole Bybee.
