I have a favor to ask of you, my darlings.
My friend and fellow jewelry blogger A Thousand Facets is doing the COOLEST thing: she’s curating her own show at Vincents Fine Jewelry next week. It’s called Fire and Forge, and the theme is OPALS.

(Earrings by Karin Jacobson, necklace by Rachel Atherley)
Every piece in the show is one of a kind and features opals cut by the up-and-coming Loren Gurche of Ancients Opals. I only have a few photos so far, but I’m familiar with many of the participating designers and I can tell you right off the bat this will be a lineup worth seeing.

(Necklace by Hannah Blount)
Opals are such a great gem to anchor a show. They can be so dark and mysterious, flickering with inner fire or glowing in sunlight.
I also love the wide variety of ways different designers choose to use opals – even the few pieces pictured in this post represent a wide variety of opal styling. Just look at Hannah Blount’s sassy scarab-like bug necklace compared to Karin Jacobson’s organic-feeling earrings and Rachel Atherley’s glam but elegant pendant above.

Here’s where the favor comes in:
I can’t make it to Fire and Forge. I’m going to miss it. That means that I need you to go for me and tell me allllll about it. Pretty please? I know you’ll enjoy it.
All the info you need is in the image above, or you can find even more details at Fire and Forge’s Facebook event page.

(Rings from By Jodi, Ruta Reifen, and Ananda Khalsa.)
And if you need more proof that A Thousand Facets has a great eye and will be putting together an enviably opalicious selection, you can check out her Instagram here. Now, please go ogle the opals for me!

Good morning, my darlings! I’m so excited this day is finally here: I can’t wait to tell you all about Loriann Jewelry. The jewels are amazing, the designer is a delight…there’s nothing not glorious here.
I had so much fun taking these pictures!
Loriann Jewelry nails that difficult-to-achieve sweet spot between casual and formal: these designs, while often quite sizable, feel equally appropriate with jeans or a gown. They’re luxurious, but utterly unfussy. It’s an irresistible combination.
Here’s an opal ring from the same collection as the earrings I’m wearing in the photos above. Look at that luscious, glowing opal pebble!
I was so excited to see what new treasures
Here’s a closer look at this glorious Omi Prive opal behemoth. Goodness gracious. I know I had it on my hand, but it still blows me away, even in photos.
In addition to their exceptional stones, Rahaminov Diamonds is known for their flower designs. It’s not hard to understand why, while looking at this beauty.
From incomparable diamond classics to the cutting edge of design, we’re going to look next at one of my favorites from the Rising Stars section of JCK Las Vegas, which is dedicated to up and coming brands.
I don’t care much about pearls in a general way: they just don’t get me excited. But I’d wear any piece of little h’s, anytime, anywhere. Just look at this bonanza of color and texture. You know you love it.
