This blog post is about something I’ve never featured before: a completely blank Pinterest jewelry group board.

Why am I showing you a blank Pinterest board?? Because I want you to help me fill it with beautiful things.

After years of being frustrated by spammy and cluttered Pinterest jewelry group boards, I’ve decided to start my own!! A board by jewelry lovers, for jewelry lovers.

You may already know of my love for Pinterest: I was pinning jewelry before I was blogging about jewelry! I think many of you were my Pinterest followers before you were my blog readers.

My hope is that by issuing an invitation here to all of you, my dears, I can reach an audience of Pinners who will be genuinely interested in creating a beautiful virtual collection of jewelry. I have faith in us.

We’re starting out with zero pins and 12,868 followers…not too bad a kickoff point!

I have a pretty robust Pinterest presence (3 million views per month!), so if we all join together we can make this the best Pinterest jewelry group board around.

I want to fill this new Pinterest jewelry group board with beautiful, perfectly in focus, properly sourced jewelry pins. Vertically oriented images are preferred, but not required. Please no spam, affiliate links, or sales promotions – pins with prices are not welcome. Link to a listing if you like, but keep the sales pitch off of the Pinterest board.

All are welcome to join my new Pinterest jewelry group board! Designers, dealers, and stores are welcome to pin their own wares/designs as long as they do so thoughtfully and with restraint (and the same goes for fellow bloggers).

Hello, my dears, and welcome to another edition of my Pin with me series!

My Pinterest account is a vast repository of images of jewelry, organized in various boards by jewelry type, maker, era, etc. Last time, we talked about my Jewelry styling inspiration board, which is dedicated to jewelry in paintings. Today we’re going to be talking about another specific category board that I started not too long ago: my Mourning and Mememto Mori Jewelry board.

First, a brief word about mourning and memento mori jewelry.

Searching Pinterest for pieces of jewelry that actually fit these two related but still separate categories is a challenge in several ways. The frustrating part is how much mis-labeled junk you get in the search: vaguely goth, contemporary crap with skulls and such.

On top of that is the disturbing part: sometimes mourning jewelry is categorized alongside things that I personally would rather not see. My Mourning and Memento Mori Jewelry board is all about historical jewelry, but mourning and memento mori jewelry – or pieces miscategorized as such – also tend to turn up on Pinterest boards with things like memorial photos of dead children, preserved unusual animal carcasses…that kind of macabre curiosities. I’m always interested in mourning jewelry. I am never interested in being unpleasantly surprised by unexpected photos of dead children.

For these reasons: I prefer to add mourning and memento mori jewelry to my Pinterest board by either adding it myself from reputable sources or by repinning pins collected by trustworthy individuals on Pinterest rather than widely searching.

Not to be like “follow my board or be unpleasantly surprised by pictures of dead people” but I guess that sort of is what I’m saying? Definitely a strong argument.

As you already know, my Pinterest account is a vast repository of images of jewelry, organized in various boards by jewelry type, maker, era, etc. But recently I branched out into a new series of Pinterest board, each dedicated to a very specific jewelry-related topic. Last time, we talked about my Painted Jewels board, which is dedicated to jewelry in paintings. Today we’re going to be talking about another specific category board that I launched fairly recently: my Jewelry styling inspiration board.

It’s a good board. It might be my favorite (don’t tell the others).

The majority of my Pinterest boards are filled with jewelry – jewelry of all kinds, from all eras. I recently realized, though, that these were all filled with raw material: and that I didn’t have any archive dedicated to ways of actually wearing jewelry.
