Hair jewels have been gradually creeping up on us for the last few years; first in tiny increments, and now with all the enthusiasm of a full-blown trend.

I am fully, fully, here for hair jewels. They’re joyful, exuberant, opulent, whimsical, and tiara-adjacent. They’re also marvelously scalable: you can enjoy this trend at diamond or rhinestone prices, depending on your budget. You can rock one shimmering bobby pin or cover your head in glimmering, lustrous waterfalls of pearls.

This look is from Jennifer Behr. The individual elements are very simple – straight barrettes embellished with rhinestones or pearls – but the overall effect is stunning.

Sparkling hair clips and hair jewels are not a new idea, of course. They’ve been around for 100’s of years. What feels so new and thrilling to me is the volume and the artistry – in looks like these, hair clips create shapes in the hair, playing with negative space and texture to unite individual pins and barrettes into an dramatic overall look that feels as luxe as a genuine old school tiara.

Modern society might raise an eyebrow at any of us who actually realized our dreams of wearing a tiara everywhere all the time, but thanks to bejeweled beauties like these we can live our hair-adornment dreams out loud.

Kitsch is an OG of the bold bejeweled hair jewels trend on IG. They’re know for their large crystal clips and single word clips, which you can see here on the leftmost model. I love this extremely literal interpretation of the jewel hair trend. What can I say? I love words!

’tis the season for holiday parties…are you ready to sparkle all the way? Here’s a trio of party-perfect statement necklaces under $200 to get you ready for the festive spirit in a hurry.

Melinda Maria has some GREAT statement necklaces. The snake-style necklace is obviously killer, but what I most want to talk about are those two great blingy necklaces above it.

Melinda Maria is currently offering something you rarely see in costume jewelry: several varieties of diamond rivière style necklaces. These beauties are a layering dream, but they’re so sparkly that they’re ultra glam on their own, too. Perfect for those of us who love a big look but don’t have diamond rivière money. I have a few pieces of Melinda Maria’s jewelry and I’ve been really pleased with them all so far. She does a great job of hitting that sweet spot between quality and price. My ears are very sensitive to costume jewelry in general but I can wear Melinda Maria earrings.

Dames a la Mode specializes in making new jewelry inspired by Georgian era costume jewelry. You don’t have to be an antique jewelry nerd to appreciate her vivid, wearable designs, though.

Dames a la Mode’s jewelry spans an incredible variety of beautiful colors and design variations and they’re deliciously stackable. These rainbow necklaces are some of the newest and I actually can’t remember why I haven’t bought one yet. (There’s a pastel version too, if you’re a unicorn.) I want to wear three of them at once.

I love this styling from Lionette NY – so lusciously opulent. I’m specifically eyeing the Ofir choker: that’s this one, the gorgeous two-layer crystal choker in the middle of this stack, with the big old marquise shaped crystals hanging down.

It is lush and glamorous and feels super modern…but there’s also somewhat of a vintage vibe around it that I’m extremely into. A killer piece, and right under the $200 mark. Also I would never have thought to layer a piece like this, but now I desperately want to.

Delightful summer statement earrings.

Who else loves summer statement earrings? ‘Tis the season for bright colors and bold shapes, because if heat and humidity can’t inspire you to leave your comfort zone, what can?

It’s mid-July, which is as solidly summertime as one can get. I bet by now you’ve already worn your favorite summer statement earrings a few times and you’re starting to get the urge for a new pair. I am here to help!

Don’t you want to have huge, beautiful flowers blooming on your ears? I certainly do.

These babies are by We Dream in Colour, who I’ve featured before. I adore them. The soft, dreamlike colors, the dramatic size, the offset blooms! You could throw on anything with these and look like you planned your outfit all week when really it’s 98 degrees and you’re just trying to distract people from your sweat.

These summer statement earrings are painted brass, which means they’re bright, light, and rather affordable! Starting prices are below $100.

The flowers are magnificent, but their color scheme means they won’t go with every color. The Julie Cohn Redbud earrings, however, on the other hand, would match every single thing in your closet.

I’m fascinated by the architectural shape of these statement earrings – my eyes love traveling over each curve and bend. They’re so interesting but so wearable. And at 2.5 inches, they’re one of the smaller pairs in this roundup.
