Goodness gracious, the Fortuna Summer Fine Jewels Sale has some fantastic lots! It’s tomorrow, June 29th, so if you fall in love with any of these pretty pieces, you’d better get your bidding muscles ready.
Let’s look at some of my favorites.
Lot 131: Tony Duquette Jade Pendant Earrings / Lot 458: A Pair of Etruscan Style Gold Earrings.
I adore statement earrings for summer, and the Fortuna Summer Fine Jewels Sale is bursting with options.
You couldn’t go wrong with either of these two. Those Tony Duquette jade earrings are so dreamily cool they make me forget my air conditioning is broken and the irresistible gold angles of the Etruscan-inspired gold dangles would go with any sundress under the sun.
Are you familiar with Fortuna? Here’s a brief intro:
Based on Fifth Avenue in New York City, Fortuna Auction is the world’s only risk-free fine jewelry auction house. The founders, husband and wife team Seth Holehouse and Anna Lin, recognized the difficulty and risk experienced by people trying to sell their jewelry for the best value.
Since its founding, Fortuna has been committed to eliminating all risks for anyone wanting to sell jewelry, and offering free jewelry valuations from their graduate gemologists with no obligation to consign.

Lot 32: Ilias Lalaounis Gold, Diamond and Enamel Snake Brooch
So from easy-to-wear earrings to an intricate, unusual masterpiece – this enamel Ilias Lalaounis is a collector’s piece. I can’t get enough of the dynamic lines of the snakes, rendered in vivid enamel and rich yellow gold so that they look almost like stained glass come to life.
I had to show it to you in both a full view and a detail shot to accurately communicate its magnificence.
If you want more brooches, try lot 27, lot 39, or lot 79.
Lot 215: An Antique Pearl, Diamond, Ruby and Emerald Ring / Lot 235: An Antique Diamond and Garnet Ring / Lot 270: An Antique Citrine and Enamel Ring
The Fortuna Summer Fine Jewels sale has quite a diverse and exciting selection of antique rings, a category of jewelry I know we all love quite fiercely. The magnificent garnet ring here has an auction estimate starting at $3,000, but the other two beauties start at well under $1,000 – the interesting pearl, ruby, and emerald ring could go for as little as $500.
If you want more antique rings, check out lot 307, lot 205, and lot 195.
Now I’m going to ride off into the sunset with a little help from lot 163 (have you ever seen a cuter carriage?).
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the goodies in the Fortuna Summer Fine Jewels Sale! Bidding is tomorrow, June 29th. So many jewels, so little time!
