This Art Deco diamond and ruby bracelet was made in 1930. Running along the center of the bracelet is an openwork band of oval-shaped cabochon rubies, framed by a single and baguette-cut diamond band trimmed with cabochon rubies. The bracelet closes with a single and baguette-cut diamond clasp, mounted in platinum.
I love that this bracelet uses cabochon rubies instead of a more angular cut – I think the texture is really interesting and unusual. I’d love to see how the stones pick up light when this piece is out and about on a lucky wrist. This bracelet was sold as part of Christie’s October 21, 2009 Rare Jewels sale.
