It’s mid-June, which means it’s officially summertime! I hope you’ve got your sundresses ready, because I have the perfect jewelry to go with your summer style: GiGi Ferranti!
It’s been more than a year since we looked at GiGi Ferranti’s designs and the collection has grown spectacularly since the day that designer Gina first welcomed me into her Brooklyn studio with a plate of cookies (she’s the cutest).
The first time I saw GiGi Ferranti’s work, I was drawn to the collection’s unapologetic femininity, rendered in bold lines and bright colors. Those aesthetic building blocks remain present, but they’ve evolved as the collection has expanded to include both smaller, more versatile pieces and irresistible statement stunners like the Gia Deco emerald and diamond necklace I’m wearing in the photo above.
Here’s a closer look at the Gia Deco bangle, a fantastic piece that would be an bright spot in any jewelry wardrobe. I recently featured the coordinating Gia Deco earrings in an Instore Magazine feature that spotlighted cutting edge Art Deco-inspired designs. Deliciously geometric!
GiGi Ferranti’s Gia Deco collection may be the line I’m most obsessed with right now, but it’s impossible to talk about GiGi Ferranti without dedicating significant attention to her wildly popular Lucia stacking rings.
The Lucia stacking rings are based on a chevron motif that is integral to the GiGi Ferranti signature style. The chevrons are rendered in solid gold, openwork, studded with gems, in rosy or yellow gold or (new!) black rhodium plating, with moving charms or all metallic, fully encrusted in diamonds or now in a slender version set with a subtle line of gems or diamonds.
There’s something utterly enthralling about the Lucia stacks, isn’t there?
It’s rare that you see a whole stacking ring collection that’s truly based on differing versions of the same foundational geometry, unless that underlying principal is “plain gold band.” The more Lucia stacking rings you wear, the more irresistible the difference between each zig-zagging band of gold.
