This is a really fun set – and seasonally appropriate. I can look at this and see frosted leaves and holly berries or fireworks.

Fireworks are what the designer, James W. Curren (for Faidee) intended people to see when they looked at this necklace and earrings. And it’s jewelry worth of fireworks. The necklace alone contains 20 cabochon rubies, totaling 108.13 carats, and 56.80 carats of pear-shaped and brilliant cut diamonds.

The earrings add an additional 27.39 carats of rubies and 7.00 of diamonds. Not too shabby.

This necklace was made in France in the 1920’s. If you look carefully at the design, you can see that it has a dragonfly-inspired motif. It has 54 excellent-color diamonds, a total of 14 ct. The front is in platinum; the back in 18K gold. It is accented with 7 natural pearls. The full necklace measures 16 inches, with a large (6 inch) center piece.
