Hello, my darlings!
Did you know that it’s now been three years since I started writing Diamonds in the Library? Closer to three years and one month, actually.
This past year has been exciting for so many reasons: my first trip to VicenzaOro; my second annual visit to the summer jewelry shows in NYC; my wedding (!!!), at which I was decked out in antique diamonds; meeting so many fellow-jewelry lovers online and in real life, and so many more incredible experiences.
Another major life change that I’ve alluded to but not actually announced here is that I’m now a full time blogger. I resigned from my day job and I’m going all in with Diamonds in the Library. I’m still figuring out all of the glorious puzzle pieces of that, but I’m thrilled to finally have the time to devote to making this site in to all that it can
be. I also have a few exciting collaborations coming up – stay tuned for more details soon.
None of this would be possible without you, my dearest readers. Do you know what I think? I think you deserve a present.
Thanks to Trademark Antiques, I can offer you the chance to win a really good one.
This Art Nouveau pendant is antique, probably dating to the early 1900’s, and features a beautiful floral design in enamel over 14k gold. The prize includes the lovely 14k gold chain shown in the photos, so the lucky winner will receive this piece in ready-for-action condition.
Isn’t it lovely? I think it’s so wearable, with its gentle hints of color and enticing open design. The subtlety of the colors mean it would be at home in any season. I just love the way the flower’s tiny golden stem loops over the round frame of the pendant and then back around.

A huge thanks to the Trademark Antiques for donating this beautiful Art Nouveau pendant!
I will wear this necklace in the Raymond Chandler section of the next public I go to…every few months I meet the same person in the same section of a different public library; each time we embrace like long lost lovers, even the first time we met…
I love this response.
I would wear it to my 3 years wedding anniversary celebration. :-*
Congratulations on 3 years!!
I’d wear this beautiful pendant to the grocery store… That’s where I wear my best jewels!
I would wear this out to dinner with my husband!
SO PRETTY!!
Much like YOUR FACE
xoxo,
B
The first place I would wear this would be on a visit to Grandmother, she’s a huge jewellery fan, and has passed her love of jewellery to me. And although we speak different languages we both appreciate good jewellery ❤️
Knowing my life I would probably wear it to the grocery store, but in my head I would wear it to a candlelit dinner.
I’m a firm believer in wearing beautiful things in daily life. It makes everything a little more fun.
How generous! What a beautifully delightful prize. I always enjoy the Instagram posts from Trademark Antiques. Thank you for the opportunity to enter this give-away.
Ah! The first place I would wear this beautiful necklace would be for a dinner out with my best friend.
I’d wear this lovely necklace stacked with my long Victorian chain out to our anniversary dinner (if we ever get to go out alone!). And I’d wear it every day too!
Sounds glorious! I’m on the hunt for the right long gold Victorian chain, myself. I hope you get to go on your anniversary dinner soon!
I would wear it everyday. It’s perfect. Years ago I had a similar piece and sold it. I’ve regretted it ever since. This is a chance correct it.
I have a daughter who attends a music conservatory for vocal performance who has her senior recital coming up November. We just put the finishing touches on her look, and I think this might be the absolutely perfect start to mine! Truly gorgeous!
Such a lovely idea! My sister is a singer and I’ve helped her pick out a lot of performance outfits (and, of course, performance jewelry!).
To the park so this beauty could be out in nature.
I would wear it to my brother in laws wedding !
I would wear it every day it’s simple, yet beautiful. Just discovered you via instagram.
Thanks for entering, Robin! I’m glad you found me.
I would wear it to Santa Cruz Bookshop ,then lunch at Shadowbrook ,then to tiny museum by the beach ,then to the harbor and The Crow’s Nest to watch the sea and read my new books
That sounds magnificent, Leilani. What a lovely plan for any day.
I love following you and seeing all of your great posts. I think you may love jewelry as much as me. Thanks for the hard work and for sharing such wonderful things!!
Oh and I would wear the pendant to work so I could show it off! ????
That is so sweet, Shannon, thank you! I’m grateful to have readers as wonderful as you.
My boyfriend and I both have really busy schedules but we try to have a date night every weekend. One of our favorite places to go is the local museum where they play movies that aren’t shown in the theater, so I would definitely wear this gorgeous necklace on one of those outings!
I would definitely wear this lovely pedant everywhere! I would like to say if wear it to some fancy dinner but since I’m always in class or at school for some reason or another the first place it would be worn to would most likely be there!
I’m a huge believe in wearing pretty things in daily life to make daily life more exciting.
I would wear it out to a fancy dinner
Lovely pendant that would be added into the every day rotation for sure.
I would wear this for a lovely evening out!
I love your blog! Also this pendant is so gorgeous!! i would love to wear it to something really elegant, like going to the ballet with my sweetheart, but I would also find reasons to wear it on normal work days, or even just around the house, because it is so lovely. (Here’s hoping the computer picks me!!) thank you for all your amazing pictures and information
Thanks so much, Karen!! What a lovely comment.
xoxo,
Becky
Beautiful I hope I win so I can wear this every day ????????
So beautiful and dainty.
Hi! Think I entered competition correctly using the widget!
Honestly, I’ll probably just wear it to my regular cafe. Being disabled, I don’t do a lot of fancy outings.
Hi, I recently discovered your blog and facebook-page and I just love reading it and watching all those beautiful jewellry. I would love to wear the pendant on my LBD when my husband and I will go out on a celebration dinner.
I think the first place I would wear this is the Victorian Players Club on Gramercy Park South in Manhattan. It looks like the right period!
That sounds perfect! This pendant is a little later than the Victorian era, but I bet would fit in beautifully.
You have amazing collection. I love vintage jewellry. This pendant is nice, delicate and beautiful. 🙂
I would wear this to work, because I think every girl needs some everyday sparkle! (And congrats on taking the full-time plunge!)
Soooo lovely! I don’t have any antique jewelry–I think I need to start building a collection. (And congrats on taking the full-time plunge!)
Thanks so much, Melissa! If you ever want help or advice building that antique collection, you know who to talk to 😉
I would wear it on the defense of my PhD thesis in Food Science next january!
It´s a fabulous and delicate piece and I think that committee members will loving 😉
Best regards from Brazil. Sabrina @sbsartor
Thanks so much for entering, Sabrina! It’s so cool to hear where all of my readers are based. And good luck defending your thesis in January!! One of my very good friends did the same earlier this year and I know it can be nerve-wracking.
Best,
Becky
I would wear this unique lovely necklace (the first time) to my first day at university 🙂 (it will be a great way to remember the day, especially for someone like me who has a terrible memory haha).
After that every other day is a perfect day to wear something as absolutely gorgeously stunning as this necklace:D
Gorgeous! Would love to be wearing this lovely necklace!
I adore this necklace, so delicate!
Out to our local champagne and dessert bar – Mosquito. A pendant like that deserves some bubble ????
Hmm, this lovely necklace would probably be worn to work first, sad but true. ???????? Thank you for the lovely contest!!
I’d wear it out to a dance performance for my birthday!
Great idea and love your blog! I don’t own any art nouveau pieces so this would be a lovely first to layer with other necklaces. Thank you.
Thanks for the great giveaway! I will wear this on my upcoming birthday which will be in a few weeks ( :

New reader and subscriber here! I’d wear this to with an LBD to the first function for my partner’s new job this fall.
I’m in love with this pendant! The pendant would be worn every day since it goes with my entire wardrobe. But the first occasion I would wear it would be on a date with my husband to a lovely Victorian house that has been made into a restaurant.
I would wear it to my job – in the library! I’ma community college library director and I love wearing vintage pieces to work. They’re always conversation starters.

Oops….I forgot. I’d wear this pendant EVERYWHERE!!
Congratulations!! I’ve been reading for several years and want to thank you for your wonderful blog!!
You are so sweet, Nicole – thank YOU for reading!
Wow! What an amazing step for you!! I’ll add my congratulations and tell you it has been evident to all of us how much time and care you devote to your posts as a “part-time” blogger, so I am eagerly awaiting the amazing posts, events and collabs you will now have the time to plan taking this wonderful blog on as a full-time endeavor! Your taste in period jewelry is always impeccable, and your obvious love of the written word rounds out your blog as one of the most interesting and enjoyable that I have the opportunity to follow.
Now, as to where I might wear this wonderful bauble you have seen fit to offer us a chance to own – is it too indulgent to say everywhere?! (And I mean EVERYWHERE!) I am enchanted with this precious little piece of Victoriana, and I would plan to give it, on the off-chance that I am the lucky reader to be honored with it’s safekeeping, all the personal face time I could manage! (Maybe I could start a blog for it, detailing it’s various adventures!! ????)
Thank you for the opportunity to own this beautiful little piece of history, and, as a lover of embellishment and literature alike, I can’t wait to see the evolving fruit of your full-time blogging efforts – Kudos!!
What a sweet and thoughtful comment, Kimberley. Thank you so much for your kind words and good wishes. I’m honored to have you as a reader. Good luck in the giveaway!
So delighted to have found your wonderful blog and fabulous pictures on instagram a couple of months ago. I love how you are single handedly popularizing sweet evocative antique pieces such as this lovely one, and have taken the big step of making it your life’s work. Hear hear!
I would create field trips to wear it on, perhaps to a sherry sip or a garden high tea, or an evening concert of music by Debussy. I would also happily wear it on any of the field trips that seem to have to present themselves daily.
Thank you for saying such lovely things, Kerry! I’m so glad you enjoy my work. I’m lucky to have readers like you.
This lovely & simply gorgeous Art Nouveau pendant is amazing. Masterpiece jewellery craft that combined gems into one kind…..
Thanks for this kind of wonderful giveaway…. 🙂 ????????????????????????????
This lovely & simply gorgeous Art Nouveau pendant is so amazing. Such an inspiring masterpiece , simply combined pieces of gems into one kind …..????????????????????
Such a pretty necklace! But not as lovely as you, dear Becky! I would think of you every time I wore it. Which would be often.
Awwww.
This is the perfect pendant for a day outside!!!! I was born in Spring and have always loved any flower related items! This one would go perfect for a picnic date with my fiancé no matter the time of year!!!
i would wear it at my upcoming “downton abbey tea party” with my late art nouveau tea gown!
That sounds amazing!
I left a comment yesterday, not sure why it hasn’t shown up! So will try again! Congrats on your blog anniversary, this is a beautiful pendant! I would wear it to Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia as I rehab from my hip replacement surgery next month!
Congratulations on your blog’s success. No surprise, because of your personality and subject matter. Love your giveaway jewelry. I would wear it everywhere. It would go to dinner, to a dance, to church, even in the neckline of an open-neck blouse with jeans.
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! I’m happy to have you as a reader.
I would wear it to my rehearsal dinner for my upcoming Art Nouveau inspired wedding!!! I’d totally wear it the day of if my wedding dress neckline wasn’t so high… Such a fabulous piece!
As a librarian and a jewelry fanatic, I am in love with your blog. Congratulations on being able to spend everyday doing what you love!
Thank you so much! And congratulations on your upcoming wedding – I wish you every happiness (and maximum smoothness in wedding planning…I remember those days well.)
Congratulations on striking out independently! Huge step, wish you all the best!
Thank you, Katherine!
I would wear it to visit you!
A+
This is lovely! I’d wear it to church for the first time wearing it ????
Good luck with your life changing decision, and thank you for giving us the chance to win this breathtaking piece.
I visited Belgium last summer, and being Art Nouveau one of my favourite artistic movements (it is also really close to two other ones I love, symbolism and the Pre-Raphaelits one) I was stunned while visiting the Victor Horta house-museum in Brussels and standing in front of the Hotel Ciamberlani facade, as well as walking down all the Art Nouveau path in the city not to miss one building. The fin-de-siécle museum was so amazing, I hope they will not close it as I heard. Since you love books, if you are into this kind of art and haven’t read it yet, I advise “Dreamers of decadence” by Philippe Jullian – it is my byble!
Where would I wear this piece? Well, in November I have planned a trip around few italian cities, like Rome, Florence and Positano (I am meeting Vali Myers’ long time companion, whom will let me visit their little corner built in the 70s in a green valley) and since in Italy there will be the perfect weather to wear long-sleeved silk mini dresses, light jackets and such, this would be my statement piece throughout the journey, and would be perfect with anything I’d wear.
Thank you so much, and can’t wait to read more of your inspiring posts.
Thank YOU so much, Sarah! I’m honored to have such a thoughtful and well-traveled reader. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Art Nouveau, and good luck in the giveaway!
Love the pretty forms of this Art Nouveau. I would wear it anywhere because I believe you should enjoy and wear all of your jewelry. So I sure do
!
i would wear it anywhere like out for a dinner .
Congrats on your 3 year blogging anniversary! I love reading your blog! I’m getting my hip replaced in a few weeks, so I would get to wear it every day as I heal from my surgery! As part of my therapy I’m going to Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia, that pendant would look awesome there! Thanks so much to you and a Trademark Antiques for holding this contest!
Thanks so much, Allison! I love the idea of wearing the pendant to Longwood Gardens – such a beautiful place. Best of luck with your surgery.
Such beautiful pendant, would be great to win it.

What a beautiful pendant! I would love to wear this for the holidays or my birthday,Manichaeism is in the Spring…. This pendant reminds me of Spring!
It is adorable! I have many great ideas what to wear with it 🙂
Many congratulations lovely ✨????????????????????✨. Your blogging is great and you’re such a huge inspiration by making the leap to do this full time. You’re going to nail it ????. Thanks for such a great competition. If I’m lucky enough to win I think this little beauty deserves a little jaunt to Blighty ???????? (I’ll pay the postage). Whilst we’re turning to crisp autumn days now I think she’d look great setting off my work outfit with Big Ben in the background ????
Thanks so much, Lucy! I’m glad you entered – good luck!!
Congrats! I’d wear the pendant to work and it would brighten up my day!
This necklace is beautiful! It reminds me of a flower sprouting in the spring, coming out of the frost and snow! It’s so pretty and unique!
What a beautiful, timeless pendant! I would love to wear it on my birthday with a simple dress…so the pendant would really shine!
I have been following you for about a year now and am sorry to have missing the first two. I always enjoy the gorgeous items you feature. Swoon-worthy every time! This giveaway is no different. Congratulations!
I would wear it wherever I happened to be when it arrived. I would be in the Guinness Book of World Records for the nanosecond of time it would take me to open the parcel, place the contents around my neck and run to a mirror to admire the divine and soooooooo sweet necklace! Hell I would even wear it with my pajamas if I happened to be wearing them the time. Perhaps that is too much information and insight into my ‘working from home’ attire.
Really awesome idea, and congratulations to you on such a feat!! I really enjoy your blog and of course, trademarkantiques is one of my all time favorite antique dealer!! I would find myriad of ways and places to wear this beauty, like Christmas party and my coming Birthday dinner…thanks!!
Thanks, lovely!! Good luck in the giveaway.
How exciting, Becky!! Fantastic news! Well done, you.
I’d wear it to the ballet: the Australian Ballet has an opulent new production of The Sleeping Beauty about to open at the Sydney Opera house. The original ballet was first performed in 1890 so the era is right. And with a cast of woodland nymphs, bluebirds and – of course – exquisite princesses, this fairy-garden beauty will fit right in.
How wonderful!! That sounds absolutely perfect, Nikki.
Beautiful necklace. Art nouveau is my favorite
Beautiful. Art Nouveau is my favorite
I would love to win this wonderful pendant. Good luck!
I would wear it on our weekly date to a local Thai restaurant. 🙂 Other than that, I don’t really get out much, haha! Also, a happy blogging anniversary to you!
That sounds lovely! And thank you 🙂
I’d wear it to feel just as beautiful as the pendant itself, so that would be everyday and everywhere! ♥
How amazing, what a fantastic piece to give away!
So delicate and beautiful, I would share it with my daughter!
I would wear this to every gathering I can to share its’ beauty with my family and especially with my flower garden friends. My flower garden friends would truly appreciate the beauty of this piece.
That sounds lovely! I bet it would look wonderful on you. Good luck!
This is such a beautiful piece! If I won where wouldn’t I wear this?! I don’t believe I would ever take it off. This piece is simple enough to wear everyday to school etc but also beautiful enough to wear out on date night. I really hope I win this!
I would wear this to a very nice dinner with a special someone and/or a wedding. It is very beautiful!
This is a beautiful necklace. I would wear it to my birthday dinner with family.

Thank you for this wonderful giveaway! If I win, I would wear it to go antiquing because I’m sure it would bring me good luck!!!
If I won this pendant it would accompany me to Central Park! I’m moving to NYC (never been there before) and I’d be so excited to show off this beautiful piece of jewelry in such an iconic city. Plus this lovely antique pendant among the fall colors of Central Park? Huge win! ????
I adore this necklace! It would definitely become a daily wear necklace for me. It would make me feel a little fancier dropping off my daughter at preschool, attending Storytime at the library, etc!
What a gorgeous necklace! I would enjoy finding reasons to wear it. 🙂
I am headed to a big jewelry show in Miami soon and I would love to be the envy of all the jewelry connoisseurs there!
I’d wear it while buying my new university books, looking forward to it 🙂
There’s a beautiful underground bar in my neighborhood that is decorated in the Art Nouveau style. This gorgeous piece of jewelry would be the perfect accent to a period outfit.
I love that, Leah!
Oh, that is a beautiful necklace! I imagine I’d probably just wear it to work, but knowing that I had it on would help keep a smile on my face all day!
I’d go to the opera house, girl. Obvs.
Ahaha any chance you’re friends with my sister? She’s an opera singer.
Oh my goodness! I’m always so in love with the jewelry you post here, thank you so much for sharing your great taste with us! I think I would give this necklace to my mom, if I won. She deserves some beautiful jewels. Thank you! ^_^
That’s such a sweet answer, Rachel! I’m happy to have you as a reader. Good luck!
I would wear this every day because it’s so beautiful and so simple. I’d wear it to work, to get groceries, etc. And I’d be completely shameless about it.
That’s how I feel about my favorite antique pieces too. Beautiful jewelry is for wearing!
If I won this pendant I’d wear it to the local Botanical Gardens first, so it can “visit” some of its own kind out in the world!
I love that idea! Thanks for entering, Gina.
