Mervis holiday trunk show photo recap: Part II.

Hello, my dears!

I promised you there would be more photos from the Mervis Holiday Trunk show, and I’m prepared to deliver. If you missed part I of the recap, please click here to catch up!

Those stunners above are Tacori, if you didn’t recognize them. Fabulous, yes? Tacori’s rings just love to be photographed. Look at them posing for my camera. Here are are some more:

Rose gold! I know how much some of you love Tacori’s Pretty in Pink collection. This was the first time I’d gotten my hands on them and I can confirm that they’re even prettier than you’re imagining they are.

How lovely are the side details on the rose gold Tacori Dantela?

Isn’t this moonstone and rose gold bracelet dreamy? This piece – and the next few – are by David Spivak.

You know me well enough by now to know how much I loved these little Art Deco-inspired pendants.

I never used to be a big fan of yellow diamonds but I’ve realized recently that I was just confused. Yellow diamonds are like little cubes of sunshine.

This bombshell of a cocktail ring is by Odelia jewelry.

As are these diamond hoops. Normally I don’t find diamond hoops to be very exciting, but the shape of these is marvelous.

Another Odelia cocktail ring! It looked to me like a cloud of butterflies. The sparkle on this one was unreal.

Something colorful to end with! I loved these diamond and enamel bracelets by the Henderson Collection. They’re flexible and can come in any color. A lady could do worse than to have a stockpile of these ready to punch up any outfit.

I loved their metallic neutrals too.

Two antique Russian brooches.

These two antique Russian brooches are beautiful in a quiet refined way – they don’t scream for your attention, but it’s hard to ignore their flickering presence all the same.

Brooch #1 is bold and beautiful, with a strong silver/blue color contrast. That central oval sapphire is about 11.25 carats, so it really makes a grand statement. The openwork, foliate inner embellishments and the outer arcs of the brooch are both set with old-mine & rose-cut diamonds. The brooch is made in silver and gold; with a lovely contrasting border of gold right around the sapphire to warm up the central element and help its color pop.

I’d love to see this pinned on colorful fabric like a rich emerald velvet or a lighter pink, wouldn’t you? I think it would be wonderful on a sash or belt.

Brooch #2 is equally lovely in a more delicate, understated way. This brooch is designed as a plant with tourmaline buds or leaves. The branch or stem of the plant is set with old-mine & rose-cut diamonds. This brooch is also set in silver and gold.

The effect is quietly elegant and very appealing. I think it would have a marvelous forest-in-winter look on the lapel of a snowy white coat. Actually, I think this piece could be adapated beautifully as hair bling. I can imagine it winking next to an elegant updo or pinned into the side of mass of curls.

Art Deco diamond and sapphire pendant in original case.

This Art Deco sapphire and diamond pendant isn’t anything world-shatterlingly unique, but I think it’s glorious.

The listing describes this design as “classical Art Deco,” which I think is perfect. French cut sapphires and old European cut diamonds set in platinum.

It’s Deco down to its boots, with the geometric motif, the length, the overall shape, the colors, the millegraining, the openwork, the cut of the stones, and even the year: 1920.

The pendant is 1.75 inches long at the end of a 15 inch platinum chain; so it would dangle bewitchingly above most necklines.

This beauty comes in its original 1920 presentation box. I love original antique boxes. How fabulous to find a 100 year old piece of jewelry that comes nestled right in its own little custom-made home! Just think what adventures the case must have had: was it wrapped in paper, tucked into a pocket, loaded into a carriage, presented on bended knee?

It’s hard to remember sometimes how old these pieces are when they’re maintained so well. The box really places it in context.

I am smitten. I hope this one finds a good home. I’d be happy to adopt it myself, but the price tag has too many zeros for me.
