Bird and tassel earrings by Amrapali.

These earrings by Amrapali are just fabulous. From the stylized birds on the top to the rubies and emeralds on the tassel, they are bright, fun, and happy. These beauties are by Amrapali and they are gold with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, pearl tassels with a touch of enamel.

I bet you that these earrings by Amrapali have marvelous movement – just look at the tassels and all of the dangling gemstones up top. I only wish I had more information to give you about them. Alas. We can still bask in their beauty.

Luscious Art Deco diamond and sapphire ring.

Hello, gorgeous.

This Art Deco diamond and sapphire ring is a little unusual (in my opinion, anyway) for 1920 Art Deco because its lines are curved. You see a lot of sharp edges and hard angles in Deco jewelery, but this ring is positively voluptuous. I think it’s marvelous. And how boldly fabulous, with that 4.5 ct center diamond and the contrast of the diamonds and sapphires framing it. This ring belongs on a hand that is holding champagne.

You’re going to see a lot of Art Deco pieces on this blog. It’s my favorite era for jewelry – that, and Edwardian.

Platinum, Diamond and Sapphire Ring

Estimate: 25,000 – 35,000 USD

Centered by an old mine cushion-cut diamond weighing approximately 4.50 carats, framed by alternating rows set with numerous old European-cut diamonds and sugarloaf cabochon sapphires, the undergallery and shank of floral design, size 6½, circa 1920.

Colorful sapphire and diamond bracelet.

This sapphire and diamond bracelet is what the yellow brick road in Oz would look like if it was made of colored sapphires and diamonds. It’s so fun and happy – it’s just dying to climb on your wrist and go have some fun. (Personally, I’d be more than happy to let it.) With 180 carats of colored sapphires and 2 carats of diamonds, all mounted in white gold, it’s really something special.

This beautiful sapphire and diamond bracelet was sold to some lucky buyer for $13,125 (including premium) at the Bonhams 17 August 2012  Jewelry auction in Carmel, California.
