If you read my list of 101 jewelry small businesses closely, you may already have discovered Lillicoco – but this great little shop is too fabulous to breeze by without taking a closer look.
Lillicoco launched two years ago with an initial investment of only £500 and it’s been making waves ever since.
Co-owners Stacy (“The Magpie”) and Simon (who needs an awesome nickname of his own) have grown their little dream into a highly respected international store with stellar reviews and an ever changing inventory of 300+ vintage and antique treasures. Stacy comes from the jewelry industry and Simon had a career working with tech startups, so it’s not surprising that the combination is making retail magic.
Lillicoco offers only genuine antique and vintage jewelry – never reproductions – and they’re particularly passionate about making high quality finds available to the jewelry loving public at price points that even casual collectors can afford.
There isn’t a ring in this photo I wouldn’t love to own!
I don’t need to tell you how pretty they are, because the picture takes care of that, but I will point out how perfectly this kind of antique jewelry integrates into a modern wardrobe. When I still had my non-jewelry day job, I wore little vintage treasures like these on my fingers every day.
Having this kind of go-to in your jewelry box means that you always have what you need to add a little extra specialness to any mundane task.
My favorite thing about Lillicoco isn’t their lovely selection, but rather that I can tell that they’re kindred spirits, true antique jewelry lovers.

The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into Joden is that their store feels like a cross between a shop and a museum. The long room is lined with brightly lit display cases of jewelry, as one would expect, but some of the finest pieces are mounted on the walls in individual vitrines. Each of these showpieces is displayed solo, in front of an enlarged photograph of itself.
Objectively speaking, a necklace made of 100+ year old dead bugs should be gross…but I fell head over heels for this antique French scarab necklace. I love the texture of the beetle shells, their unique iridescence. This piece didn’t come home with me that day, but I can’t get it out of my mind.
