Kunzite, conch pearl, gem-set, and diamond peacock brooch/pendant.

This pendant/brooch was listed in Sotheby’s 09 October 2012 Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite sale. It is totally nuts. Like Lisa Frank grew up and developed more expensive tastes.

Kunzite, conch pearl, gem-set, and diamond peacock brooch pendant. The center kunzite is 46.10; plus 8.40 carats of tsavorite garnets, sapphires, and pink sapphires; and 1.20 carats of diamonds.

It also packs a serious jewel-punch: the center kunzite is 46.10; the body is set with 8.40 carats of pear-shaped and circular-cut tsavorite garnets, sapphires, and pink sapphires; as well as 1.20 carats of diamonds. The brooch dangles a gorgeous conch pearl, and the peacock’s eye is a spinel. The gems are set in blackened gold, which makes for a really lovely contrast to all of the bright colors. I think the darkness of the gold is what saves this piece from being hideous. It’s still entirely wacko, but beautifully so.

Hello, you beautiful thing. If someone asked me why I love Art Deco and I didn’t feel like talking (a rare occasion) I could show them this diamond, emerald, and onyx engagement ring. Gorgeous straight lines, contrasting colors, geometric pattern – all crisp and bright and clean.

It is my precise ring size.

There’s something so striking about the combination of sapphires and diamonds. Bright, crisp, bold, clean, and sharp. This Victorian Hunt & Roskell bracelet was made in England in 1880.

The openwork center of this Victorian Hunt & Roskell bracelet is set with an oval-cut royal blue Burmese sapphire within a larger cluster of old European-cut and rose-cut diamonds. The shoulders continue the design with a line of alternating graduated old-European cut diamonds, all mounted in silver and rose gold.

If that wasn’t amazing enough, the bracelet is actually a two-in-one: it has a pin attachment and can convert into a brooch.

Just look at the color of that sapphire, surrounded by juicy old-cut diamonds in classic collet settings. I’d wear this any day.

Look at that perfection. Lined in luscious fabric, the box – which, let’s remember, is well over 100 years old – is in amazing condition and opens at both sides to reveal the bracelet sitting in glory in its perfectly formed home.

I wish I could show you a photo of the bracelet as a brooch, but this is all the seller provided. Still a wealth of beauty.
