Good morning, dear readers.
I am thrilled to announce the opening of Diamonds in the Library’s first giveaway. Thanks to Mervis Diamond Importers, I have a pair of FREE diamond earrings to give away to one lucky reader.
The prize is a pair of brand new, 14k white gold lever-back 0.10 carat diamond solitaire dangle earrings by Stuller. They have a retail value of $500. Mervis sells only ethically sourced diamonds, so these are guaranteed to be conflict-free.
To enter, you must sign into the Rafflecoptor widget below and do the one mandatory option (leaving a blog post comment). There are multiple options available if you want to earn extra entries.
a Rafflecopter giveaway
There’s one more way to enter: if you buy something at Mervis Diamonds in the next two weeks (they’re having a trunk show next weekend!) and mention this blog post, you’ll get an extra entry.
Rafflecoptor uses Random.org to ensure the winner will be completely random (so no, there’s no point in trying to bribe me.) The contest closes on Friday, August 2nd and I’ll announce the winner on the following Monday.
I won’t use your information for anything but this contest, so if you’d like to stay in the loop for Mervis’ events you should sign up for their mailing list here . Say it with me one last time: FREE diamond earrings!

Let’s start out with a smaller category such as where I would not wear them. I’m thinking only places where earrings are verboten such as on the pitch. Otherwise, anywhere at anytime is a great time for sparkly diamonds 🙂 Got to get my glitter on, as it were!
Caitlin says
Sparkly diamond earrings? That’s an anywhere, anytime kind of thing. I’d probably end up sleeping in them since they have that looped closure and wouldn’t stab me in the side of the skull. Places I would not wear them include: places where earrings aren’t allowed, ie on the pitch!
dayall.me says
Great to give to the gf 🙂

Tabitha Clancy says
If I won these, I’d lend them first to my cousin who is getting married this year. They’d be perfect for the something borrowed – good luck dharma to share on her big day.
Cait says
I actually work in a library, so I’d love to wear these to work. They’re so beautiful!
Cait says
I actually work in a library, so I’d love to wear these in to work. They look beautiful!
Jen says
I’m getting married next year and have started looking at jewelry for the big day. I’m probably going to end up with a pretty shiny/large necklace, so simple chic earrings like this would probably balance it out perfectly.
Ashley says
Amazing giveaway! Def a great piece to have in a jewlery collection. It can go with so many different outfits/occasions.
Ellen Cole says
hmmm, not sure if my post has showed up yet. Technologically I’m a dunce, but I know my earrings and these are lovely. I think I’d wear them at my book launch party when my next poetry book featuring poems about my beautiful and talented daughters (who of course have an uncanny sense of style.) And of course to bed!
Charlotte Issyvoo says
Always love your posts but don’t always comment. I think I might wear just one of these earrings far up in the third piercing in one ear, and wear something bigger in the lowest piercings. I’d feel just a little bit punk that way. Or I might wear just the one, high up, on its own, with a black leather jacket, jeans, and tough boots. Don’t know why I see these as punk but somehow I do.
Diamonds in the Library says
Thank you, lovely! I’m glad uyou were able to enter. I hadn’t thought of them as punk but they’re so simple that I’m pretty sure you could take them in any direction you wanted. If you do win, I’d love to see a photo of the resulting outfit! Good luck!
Hayley says
I would use them as leverage to get my husband to finally – FINALLY – take me out to dinner for our anniversary. It’s almost the anniversary of our anniversary, for goodness’ sakes.
Sara says
I would wear them to my BFFs bachelorette party. During the party things will most likely get out of control. We’ll be ushered into the criminal underworld where we’ll be forced to cooperate in a heist. Everything that can go wrong in the heist will go wrong, because there’s that one guy (me) who is waaay too excited about the heist and starts shooting (not at people, mind you, just into the air, which is equally dangerous and stupid but I’ve been imbibing all night so what do you expect?). The bride-to-be and others from the party grab the getaway driver and throw him out of the car, they abandon the heist materials but I try to grab them anyway as I’m jumping into the back of the van. I feel like f$#-ing Val Kilmer (good looking Val from “Heat”)! With my hands full, I miss the jump as the van peels away. I’m imprisoned and whilst serving time, I trade the earrings for protection. Later, I give up key people in the crime ring to the Feds and earn my freedom.

What a great giveaway! I love this blog, by the way. I would wear them on special occasions. Probably not to work, but I do work in a library, so that irony would make me giggle 🙂
Diamonds in the Library says
It makes me giggle too. And thank you! Good luck!
Laurie Denegar says
If I won these earrings, I would be so happy. I unfortunately had to sell my diamond earrings to pay my car insurance after having my identity stolen and having my checking account overdrawn. Because the bill was due before the whole mess was straightened out, I had to sell my diamond earrings in order to pay my car insurance. To have a beautiful pair of diamond earrings would be wonderful, especially since my 31st wedding anniversary is on September 18th. I could not think of a more wonderful gift !
freethebear says
If I won these, I would give these to the bestest girl in the world, my gf! She always makes me happy!

Hi Becky!
I’m looking for things to wear with my vintage wedding dress! These would be absolutely perfect – simple, classic, and I wouldn’t feel weird wearing them with my everyday work attire!
(also I hope you’re doing well!)
Love,

I’m about to embark on my final year at University and in the process I will be applying to hundreds of jobs/internships/graduate schemes in hopes of going forward in a dream career. I am very nervous at this kind of thing and I know with a pair of diamond earrings I can strut right into an interview and dazzle with that extra shine of confidence.
