Affordable Art Deco engagement rings under $4,000.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my blog’s mission – what I want it to mean, what my reason for being is as a blogger. And I think it’s this: I firmly believe that anyone can love jewelry, regardless of income, education, or experience and that a love of jewelry at any level is worthwhile and should be embraced. What I want to do with my blog is help bring jewelry to you: the aspirational (to admire) and the affordable (to purchase when we can).

For today’s post, I’ve rounded up some of the loveliest affordable Art Deco engagement rings at reachable price points ranging from >$1,000 to the upper $3,000’s. That’s still not pocket change, but it’s a more available budget than people often assume you need for antiques. Because if you want an Art Deco engagement ring, you should have one.

This white gold die-struck beauty from the 1920’s-1930’s is the one that ring the idea for this post. Look at that classic Chrysler building-esque geometric Art Deco openwork design. Such visual impact, even though it’s a petite piece. Unique and alluring.

This affordable Art Deco engagement ring is lovely on its own, but it has two details that really take it over the top: the calibre-cut sapphires on the sides of the central stone, and incredible floral openwork in the gallery.

This unassuming little beauty is probably my personal favorite of the bunch. Those two perfectly placed voids of negative space on either side of the main stone, flanked by a single diamond baguette on each side, are what make me look at this piece again and again.

This three stone beauty is the only one of today’s affordable Art Deco engagement rings to have multiple shades of gold. How beautiful is the combination of that lacy yellow gold filigree with the shining white of the diamonds’ setting? Such a unique and lovely piece.

Have you ever seen anything quite like this ring? It’s Art Deco all the way: gloriously geometric, almost blockish, and so interesting. It wouldn’t be right for everyone, but I’m sure its soulmate is out there somewhere, waiting for it.

Amazing emerald, onyx, and diamond Art Deco fan ring.

When I saw a snap of this amazing Art Deco fan ring in a group shot on Trumpet & Horn’s Instagram, I flipped out.

I fell head over heels for this antique Art Deco fan ring with diamonds, emeralds, and onyxI started bargaining with myself, thinking, “Okay, if it’s less than this, I’ll buy it. Or if it’s only over that by a little! I’ll make it work….who needs groceries?”

Turns out, this beauty is platinum and centered by a 0.64 carat Old European diamond, which makes it even more amazeballs but also puts it solidly out of reach of my current just-for-funzies fund.

Which is good news for you, world, because that means I didn’t take it off the market.

Just look at those bold, swooping Art Deco lines: geometry and the contrast of hard and soft at their finest. The juxtaposition of the vivid green emeralds against the perfect patina of the antique platinum and the sparkle on the diamonds – a 0.64 carat Old European and 10 smaller single cut accent stones – so utterly fantastic.

I also love the texture created on the fan-shaped element by the calibre cut onyx and the scalloped edge of the fan created by the row of round emeralds.

I was talking to a friend recently about engagement rings and she said that she’s been daydreaming of yellow gold filigree.

Yellow gold and filigree haven’t been wildly popular at the same time, so it’s much more common to see delicate Edwardian and Art Deco rings in white metals. But that doesn’t mean that yellow gold lacy goodness isn’t out there.

Let’s take a look at some yellow gold filigree engagement rings.

This is a perfect example of the kind of filigree that is much more common in white metals; to find it in yellow gold makes this piece more remarkable.
